The State government has nominated 11 non-official members to the Karnataka State Cow Protection Commission under the provisions of the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation (Constitution of Goseva Ayog) Rules, 2012. According to a notification issued on February 15, the members are M.B. Puranik from Mangalore, S.K. Mitthal from Mysore, S. Shivaramu from Mandya taluk, B.S. Manjunath Swamy, Uttamchand Chajed, Uttamchand Bugad and Dayananda Swami from Basavadharma Jnanapeetah from Bangalore; Dharmaprasad from Bhadravati, Bharathi Patil from Hubli, Srinivas Hanumanth Biradar Patel from Bagalkot and Shivappa Karappa Kadapatti from Jamkhandi taluk.

Mr. Dayananda Swami has said that the members would stage a dharna here on Saturday.
