In an effort to make the process of admissions under the Right to Education Act smooth and transparent, the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has appointed nodal officers to all educational districts of the State.

These officers have the responsibility of visiting their schools under their jurisdiction to oversee the admission process.

The Joint Director of Department of State Education Research and Training (DSERT) has been named the nodal officer for Bangalore North, while it will be Director (Secondary Education) for Bangalore South. Principal, District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), is the nodal officer for Bangalore Rural.

The DPI has also appointed nodal officers for each taluk in Bangalore North and South since the response to RTE admissions has been very high in the Bangalore Urban district.

These nodal officers will, in consultation with DPI and Block Education Officers look into any problem arising in the implementation of RTE and submit a report, says a circular from the DPI.
