Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has said that his government will not allow sale of agricultural land and its conversion from next year.

He was speaking after listening to the grievances of farmers in Mormugao taluk of south Goa at a “Krishi Mela” organised by the Directorate of Agriculture and Directorate of Animal Husbandry at Cortalim on Monday.

The Chief Minister said that the need of the hour was to give more exposure to farmers to enable them to get acquainted with modern farming techniques and other measures to enhance crop yield.

He said the government was considering issuing of Kissan Credit Card to farmers, which could be used for various agricultural purposes.
