The Janata Dal (Secular) State president H.D. Kumaraswamy has clarified that there will be no post-poll alliance. Speaking to presspersons at Hangal in Haveri district on Wednesday, he said the party would form a government if people voted in their favour. If not, we prefer to sit in the Opposition, he said. Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s comment on illegal mining, he said it was the Congress that opened the doors for mining in the State.

He said it was during the tenure of the former Chief Minister S.M. Krishna that illegal mining began and that the Centre failed to initiate action against illegal mining.
