Bharatiya Janata Party State president Pralhad Joshi has denied reports that there were moves to get BSR Congress merged with the BJP.

Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, he asserted that the party had not made any such effort. “We have not contacted Mr. Sriramulu and nor has he,” Mr. Joshi said.

He also rejected reports that the BJP had sent feelers to the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa. He said the party had no intention of convincing Mr. Yeddyurappa to come back. On reports that the former Minister C.T. Ravi contacted Mr. Yeddyurappa, Mr. Joshi said it was not true. On the outcome in Periyapatna , he said: “We have done our best, we will wait for the results.”
