Malikayya Guttedar conesting from Afzalpur

GULBARGA: Nine candidates filed their nomination papers in Gulbarga district and 19 in Bijapur district on Monday.

In Gulbarga, the former Ministers Sharanabasappa Darshanapur and Malikayya Guttedar filed their papers from the Shahapur and Afzalpur Assembly constituencies respectively as Congress candidates. President of the Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society Basavaraj Bhimalli filed his papers from the Gulbarga South Assembly constituency.

B.G. Jawali, who is a three-time MP, filed his papers as the BJP candidate from the Aland Assembly constituency, vice-president of the Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society and noted industrialist B.G. Patil as the BJP candidate from the Gulbarga North Assembly constituency, Rajkumar Patil Telkur as the BJP candidate from Sedam, and Shivkumar Patil Telkur filed his papers as a BJP dummy candidate.

The former MLA Subash Guttedar filed his nomination papers as the Janata Dal (Secular) candidate from the Aland Assembly constituency, as did the lone independent, Apparao M. Patil.

In Bijapur, Chairman of the BLD Education Society M.B. Patil filed his papers from the Bableshwar Assembly constituency as the Congress candidate. Shivanand Patil, three-time MLA, filed his papers from the Basavana Bagewadi Assembly constituency as the Congress candidate, Mangaladevi S. Biradar as the BJP candidate from Mudhebehal, and Mahantgowda S. Patil filed two sets of nomination papers as a Bahujan Samaj Party candidate and as an independent. Shivanand Rathod filed his papers as an independent from the Mudhebehal Assembly constituency, S. Patil as a Janata Dal (Secular) candidate from the Basavana Bagewadi Assembly constituency and S. Bellubbi as a BJP candidate from the Basavana Bagewadi Assembly constituency.

Mallu Nagarogojji filed his papers as an independent from the Bableshwar Assembly constituency. Janata Dal (S) candidate Bande Nawaz Mahabari filed his papers from Bijapur city. Two independents Rajesh Valyapur and Ramesh Bidanur also filed their papers. Rathod Ruplu Kalu filed his papers as a Janata Dal (S) candidate from Nagathan (SC). Shanakr Gangaram, Dundappa, Ganesh Ullal Yellappa filed their papers as independents. Mr. Yellappa also filed another set of papers as a Congress candidate. Mallappa Managoli filed his papers as a Janata Dal (S) candidate from the Sindagi Assembly constituency and M.R. Patil as an independent from Indi.
