Two Nigerian nationals have been arrested on Sunday for overstaying their visa period in the country.

Pernem police in north Goa arrested Okorocha Chukuridi, a Nigerian national presently residing at Calangute in north Goa, from Patradevi-Pernem for staying without a valid visa. He was overstaying in India from June 4. A case has been registered under the Foreigners Order 1948 and Section 14 of Foreigners Act 1946.

Anjuna police in north coastal Goa arrested Obinna Devid Okuma, a Nigerian national at Assagao, for staying without a valid visa, forging the stamp of extension of visa in the name of FRRO, Hyderabad and trying to pass it off as genuine. He has also been charged with obstructing and abusing police personnel while executing their lawful duties. He was also found riding a scooter without a legal driving license.
