Testimonies of those who have been at the receiving end of gross human rights violations, violence and discrimination on account of their religion, caste or gender, and those who have fought adversities, will be the highlight of a national seminar on human rights to be held in Bangalore from April 16 to 19. It will have participants from all over India, the All-India Christian Council, which is organising the event, told presspersons.

The focus will be on advocacy and creating awareness on human rights issues. Several experts will speak at the conference, which will be held at the Cornerstone Campus here. The last day will be dedicated to a public hearing of a “people’s tribunal” where human rights victims will narrate their stories. This will be held at the Institution of Agricultural Technology. Eminent juror M.F. Saldanha will be present.
