The National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) is giving loans to members of joint liability groups to buy cows and buffaloes.

Members of the Basaveshwara and Veerabhadreshwara JLGs in Bapur and Veerabhadreshwara JLG in Markunda village have purchased milch cattle using these loans.

NABARD District Development Officer Satish Rao handed over the cattle to the members in a function at Bapur village on Friday. District lead bank manager P. Suryaprakash said that the district central cooperative bank and the Gulbarga-Bidar Milk Union have partnered in this project.“JLGs are aimed at making it easier for farmers to get loans,” he said.
