Around 50 young music students will perform at a programme organised to mark the first anniversary of Janani Music Samsthe here on Sunday.

Samsthe president Dinesh Hegde and vocalist Rekha Dinesh told presspersons here on Thursday that the six-hour classical and light vocal music programme would feature students from Hubli and Sirsi.

Ms. Rekha said that before Hubli, the samsthe had been functioning for a decade in Sirsi, offering free music education to poor students and those with physical disabilities. It had initiated music therapy for those with mental disabilities, on an experimental basis.

The programme on Sunday would conclude with the classical music concert by Ms. Rekha.

The event will be at Sawai Gandharva Hall from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
