SIRSI: A two-day "Smruti Sangeet", music concert will be held on Saturday and Sunday at Samajmandir, Manchikeri near here in memory of renowned music artist Pt. Basavaraj Rajguru under the auspices of the department of Kannada and Culture, Bangalore and Pt. Ganapati Bhat Music Academy Hasanagi.

Renowned literatteur and Suvarna Karnataka Rajyotsava awardee Vishnu Naik, Ankola will inaugurate the concert. Dr. Mahesh Joshi, director Doordarshan, Bangalore, and Suvarna Karnataka awardee, will be chief guest.

Performance

Shubharani Bolar, Sushma Hegde (both Bharatnatyam), Nagabhushan Hegde Mysore (Vocal), Pt. Ravindra Yavagal, Banagalore (tabla solo), Jayashri Patnekar, Belagaum (vocal) will perform on the first day.

Nagaraj Hegde Shirnala (flutist) Dr. Shantharam Hegde, Shripad Hegde and the founder of the academy and son of the soil Pt. Ganapati Bhat Hasanagi will perforn on the second day.
