Prohibitory orders clamped, processions banned on November 23, 24

Deputy Commissioner Amlan Aditya Biswas has banned the celebration of Muharram in several villages of Bellary and Siruguppa taluks.

Prohibitory orders have been clamped and processions banned on November 23 and 24 at Jalihal, Sangankallu, Vanenur, Jalibenchi, D. Kaggallu, B.D. Halli, K.K. Hal and Sindwal, coming under Bellary (Rural) police limits; Shankar Singh Camp, Hosa Nelludi, Yerrangli and Nelludi-Kottal in Kurgodu police station limits; Tekkalakote town, Halekote, Uppar Hosahalli and Udegol in Tekkalakote police station limits; Shanavaspur, Darur, Booduguppa, Uttanur, H. Hosahalli, Bhairapur, Kuriganur, Matasugur and Gonal in Sirigeri police station limits; and Nadanga, K. Sugur, Bandral, Deshanur, Mudenur, K. Belagallu and Hirehal in Siruguppa police station limits, and Hansi village in Kudligi police station limits.

In another order, the Deputy Commissioner has banned the sale of liquor all over the district, from 6 a.m. on November 24 to 6 a.m. on November 25.
