Elected representatives must fulfil people's demands, says Shankaramurthy
The grants released by the Central government for the implementation of various schemes and projects should be utilised properly by the members of the parliament, said D.H. Shankaramurthy, Chairman of the Legislative Council here on Wednesday.
Speaking at inauguration of the new office of Ayanur Manjunath, MP, at the Shimoga Zilla Panchayat office, he said that several times funds released for from the Centre was not utilised. Mr. Shankaramurthy said that the present elected representatives were enjoying more facilities than that of their predecessors.
He said that the role of elected representatives in fulfilling the demands of people was important. Vice President of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Sadashiva, Shimoga MP B.Y.Raghavendra wished Mr.Manjunath success in his endeavours.Shimoga Rural MLA K.G.Kumaraswamy, MLC R.K. Siddaramanna, President of Zilla Panchayat H.C. Basavarajappa, SHIMUL Chairman Shanmukh Patil, President of City Municipal Council K.S. Gangadharappa, DCC Bank President Agadi Ashok and SUDA Chairman Jnaneshwar were present on the occasion.
