Seminar on `National Integration' inaugurated

HUBLI: MP from Dharwad South Pralhad Joshi has underscored the need for bringing in suitable changes in the present educational system to strengthen the spirit of national integration among students.

Inaugurating the seminar on "National Integration" organised by the State Information Centre at the Government First Grade College here on Wednesday, Mr. Joshi regretted that the education system of the British was still being continued.

Consequently, the education system had failed to spread the message about the significance nationality, national integration and harmony. There was a need for bringing in changes in the education system, he observed.

Referring to the patriotism of people of Israel, the MP called upon youngsters to have a wider outlook and contribute towards the development of the nation through nation building activities.

Delivering a special lecture, K.S. Kaujalagi pointed out that humanity was the root cause for the progress of the nation even when there were several differences.

"We need to step out of the compartments of religion, language and caste and realise the truth that the nation is greater than everything else," he added.

S.J. Navi, principal of the college, presided over the function. G.B. Pattanashetty welcomed the gathering. P.S. Parvati, senior assistant director of State Information Centre, made introductory remarks. G.G. Duradundimath proposed a vote of thanks.
