RAICHUR: State secretary of the All-India Trade Union Congress S. Nagaraju has said that all affiliated unions will stage protests across the State, if the government invoked Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) against striking workers. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday after releasing the resolutions of eighth convention of the Karnataka State Transport Employees Union, he said the move would amount to curbing the right to protest against injustice. He alleged that despite registering several complaints with the officials concerned, no action had been taken to curb the menace of private transport vehicles, which were inflicting a loss of over Rs. 2 crore to KSRTC, every year.
