Udupi: Medical Education Minister V.S. Acharya said on Sunday that the Karnataka Development Front Government had allotted more funds for education than other sectors such as irrigation and power. He was speaking at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Sri Vidyasamudra Tirtha Higher Primary School at Kediyoor here.

Dr. Acharya said Rs. 6,000 crore had been allotted to the education sector. He said of the 22 schools, which had registered 100 per cent results in the SSLC examination, 11 were unaided ones. This showed that society had taken the responsibility of education and was ready to bear the cost of education, the Minister added.
