The former MLC Mohan Limbikai, once a close confidante of the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and who quit the BJP to join the KJP and contest as its candidate from Hubli-Dharwad West Constituency, is rejoining the BJP on Tuesday. Mr. Limbikai, who quit as member of the Legislature Council in April 2013 to contest the Assembly election, lost the election. Till recently Mr. Limbikai had been one among the KJP leaders who wanted Mr. Yeddyurappa to only have a tie-up with the BJP and not opt for a merger with it.
Now, Mr. Limbikai has resigned from the primary membership of the KJP to formally rejoin the BJP.
Interestingly, Mr. Limbikai has said that he had had no problem with the KJP, but only that he was rejoining the BJP as that party had announced Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate.
Mr. Limbikai’s rejoining the party comes at a time when the election to the Karnataka West Graduates Constituency is fast approaching.
