M.N. Naghnoor passes away

The former Minister and Congress leader M.N. Naghnoor (86) passed away on Sunday at a private hospital here. He is survived by two sons and two daughters.

Mr. Naghnoor, who was elected to the Mysore Legislative Assembly in 1957 from Kittur in Belgaum District, served as a Minister in the B.D. Jatti Cabinet from 1958 to 1962. He was also Member of Legislative Assembly from 1962 to 1967 and Member of Parliament from 1967 to 1971. Mr. Naghnoor was a member of the Indian delegation which visited the U.N. General Assembly in 1968 under Indira Gandhi’s Prime Ministership.
