Belgaum: The senior Congress leader and first-time MLA from Belgaum North, Feroz Sait, has warned government officials that they will face public ire, if they continued to neglect the latter’s problems, exploit and harass them.

In his brief remarks at a Janaspandana programme held for Uchagaon Hobli in Uchagaon on Saturday, he said the officials should remember that they are public servants and not above the public. They are duty-bound to serve the public.

He said that the officials should discharge their duties honestly and sincerely and give no scope for complaints or grievances. They have the onus of taking the development and welfare programmes of the State Government to the doorsteps of the people.

He warned the officials, particularly the “self-serving” who hardly cared for the common man against trying with public patience. “Do not try with public patience, once the people lose their patience, it will become difficult for the officials,” he said
