`Normal water supply likely to be restored by Sunday'

MANGALORE: Surathkal MLA J. Krishna Palemar is in Mysore to oversee the repair, loading and transportation work of the three pumps of Mangalore City Corporation water supply system.

According to Mr. Palemar, the pumps are likely to be brought to the city by 6 a.m. on Friday, district in-charge Minister B. Nagaraj Shetty told presspersons here.

He said that the pumps would be taken to the installation site at Thumbe and trial run would start on Friday. He said that all overhead tanks and ground-level reservoirs were likely to be filled by Saturday evening. Water would be released into the pipeline by Saturday night. Normal water supply was likely to be restored by Sunday morning, he said.

He commended the work taken up by the MCC and the district administration.

Cooperate

Mr. Shetty said that people had to cooperate for the next two days.

There would be heavy rush for water on Friday and Saturday, he said.
