A 47-year-old realtor, who has been missing for the past five days, was found dead in a lodge in Basavanagudi on Wednesday.

According to the police, Ramamurthy, a resident of Kumaraswamy Layout, was found hanging.

His family had filed a missing complaint. The suicide came to light when staff of the lodge alerted the police after they found a foul smell emanating from his room. The police suspect Ramamurthy may have taken the extreme step after suffering a loss in business.

Electrician ends life

In another incident, a 27-year-old electrician committed suicide by consuming poison at Byappanahalli on Tuesday.

With his wife and children at her mother’s house for the Ganesh festival, on Tuesday night, Prakash, a resident of Kaggadasapura, consumed alcohol laced with poison. The incident came to light when his family returned and found him dead.

Preliminary investigations revealed that he was heavily indebted and moneylenders used to come demanding repayment.
