The absence on the dais of most Ministers who figured in the official invite of Children’s Day celebrations — including Home Minister R. Ashok, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri and Minister for Energy Shobha Karandlaje — left Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj unhappy.

The only Minister who turned up was Kalakappa G. Bandi, who holds the Women and Child Development portfolio.
