Melkote MLA C.S. Puttaraju has denied the allegation of Sarvodaya Karnataka Paksha leader K.S. Puttannaiah that he and JD (S) activists were distributing liquor to influence voters in Pandavapura. Mr. Puttaraju told journalists here on Thursday that the allegation was baseless. The district police had seized a large quantity of liquor from a farmhouse belonging to an industrialist. The party had no role in it, he said. Activists of the KRRS, of which Mr. Puttannaiah is a leader, had assaulted JD(S) activities in Pandavapura, he said.
