The Goa Bachav Abhiya (GBA), a body spearheading the cause of an appropriate land use plan, has called a consultation on the Regional Plan 2021.
It will be held at 4.30 p.m. on April 2 at Sanskruti Bhavan at Patto here.
The meet is scheduled in light of the trust deficit between the people and the government, over the contentious Regional Plan 2021. The plan was among the issues that had ousted the previous Congress government, which refused to denotify it, point out political observers.
The consultation will discuss issues such as the reopening of outline development plans without tackling issues of built-up floor area ratio (FAR) and parking, the blurring of lines between settlement and commercial zoning, 20 per cent extra FAR for hotels to “boost” tourism revenues, and tender for an amphitheatre on an Eco-1 zone. “We will give village groups who wish to make presentations time to raise their issues,” said Sabina Martins of GBA here on Thursday.
“GBA wishes to draw up a common charter on the way forward so that this be presented and incorporated while the government works to close the RP2021,” she added.
