Manipal: Manipal University, Australian Education International, New Delhi, and Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council - Centre of Relevance and Excellence (TIFAC-CORE) will organise an Indo-Australian conference on "Human Variations and Pharmacogenomics" at Manipal Life Sciences Centre here from Saturday to Monday.
Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, Director of the Manipal Life Sciences Centre K. Satyamoorthy said that Nobel Laureate Peter C. Doherty from the University of Melbourne, Australia, would deliver the inaugural address. M.R.S. Rao, president of the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore, would deliver the keynote address.
Chancellor of the Manipal University Ramdas Pai and Pro-Chancellor Ramdas Pai, and officials from the Union Government and Australian High Commission would be present, he said.
The objectives of the conference were to establish a close link between Indian and Australian universities, and research and development activities that would help in managing diseases in a rational way, he said.
