SDM Ayurveda College and Hospital will organise an International Congress on “Ayurvedic Concepts and Treatment of Malignant Disorders” here on December 15 and 16.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, K.R. Ramachandra, Vice-Principal of the college, said that nearly 950 delegates were expected to participate in the conference. Eight resource persons from India and two from abroad would be delivering lectures at the plenary session of the congress. Prof. Ramachandra said the main theme of the event was to exploit the current research in Ayurveda and phytochemicals for harnessing the field of evidence-based clinical practice with regard to malignant disorders.

The event would bring researchers, scientists, academics, and practitioners to share and evaluate remedies to prevent, control, cure and abate the sufferings of patients. The event was co-sponsored by the Department of AYUSH and National Rural Health Mission, Karnataka, he said.

Vedaprakash Tyagi, President of Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), New Delhi, would inaugurate the congress.

K.S. Prabhakar, Principal Secretary, Medical Education, and G.N. Sreekantaiah, Director, Department of AYUSH, would be the chief guests at the inaugural function.
