Belgaum: The 74th Karnataka State Annual Medical Conference, “Medicon 2008”, began here on Saturday on a dull note. Minister for Health and Family Welfare B. Sriramulu could not attend it.
The conference was inaugurated by Suresh C. Angadi, MP. Chancellor of KLE University Prabhakar B. Kore, and Vice-Chancellor Chandrashekhar Kokate were present.
The three-day conference, which got under way on Friday, is being organised by the Indian Medical Association’s Belgaum City and Belgaum North branches.
M.S. Sidde Gowda was installed as the new president of the Karnataka State unit of IMA for 2008-09.
He took charge from outgoing president S.M. Sureshwaraiah.
President-elect for 2009-10 M.R. Krishnaiah of Tumkur was present.
