Students of Madras Christian College (MCC), Chennai, were declared overall champions at Abhigyaan, the annual college festival, held at SDM-Institute of Management Development here. The event concluded on October 2.

Trophy

A.R. Dwarakanath, fitness and soft skill trainer, SDM-IMD, Mysore, presented the trophy to the MCC students. SDM-IMD student coordinators Gautam, Arun and Shashank were present.

While MCC students Jithin Mathan Jacob and Ganesh Gopal won first prize in ‘Dossier’, the paper presentation competition, Sambhav Shah and Rithika Gupta of Vidyaashram, Mysore, bagged the second prize, a press release said. Vinamya, Kaustav, Arushi and Ankur of Christ University, Bangalore, won the first prize in Mad-Ad while Adithya, Kevin Paul, Ashwin R.G. and Sanjay Nair of SJCE, Mysore, bagged the second prize.

In a team-based event testing presence of mind and teamwork, Jithin Mathan Jacob, Alfredo Jaison and Aswin Ranjan Varghese of MCC won the first prize and SBRR Mahajan First Grade College, Mysore, students Adithya, Vivek and Jeeva bagged the second prize.

Karthik, Prashanth and Sharath of Vidyavardhaka College, Mysore, won the first prize in quiz.

Vidyaashram-Mysore students Deepna, Kavniappa Sullimada and Ruchika M., secured the second prize.

Arpith N., Hariprasad Navilur and Akshay Bhat of NIE, Mysore, bagged the first prize in Pugmarks, a treasure hunt, the release stated.

Best short film

A short film, The Missed Class , on Gandhian principles by SDM students Omkar Rajyaguru, Himanshu Singh Gurjar, Ashwin S. Prasad and Varun Kumar won first place in the short filmmaking competition held at XIM, Bhubaneshwar.
