People’s Democratic Party leader Abdul Nasir Maudany was on Thursday permitted by the special court here to attend his daughter’s wedding in Kollam, Kerala.

The court ordered the State police to provide security and escort, and directed Mr. Maudany to bear all expenses incurred during the travel. Mr. Maudany, who is jailed in Parappana Agrahara central prison, had applied for five days’ special bail requesting the court to allow him to attend his daughter’s wedding and visit his ailing father.

The court directed the Kerala government to extend all support to the State police to ensure his security. Mr. Maudany will set off for Kollam on Friday and is expected to return on or before March 13.
