‘Efforts on set up a library on the math premises’

HUBLI: A master plan for the development of Sri Siddharoodh Math in Hubli in a phased manner is under process, chairman of Sri Siddharoodh Math Trust Committee Mahendra Singhi has said.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday along with vice-chairman Mallikarjun N. Kanthi and honorary secretary G.G. Kammar, Mr. Singhi said that it had been decided to utilise Rs. 1 crore allocated by the State Government to construct a community hall.


Giving details of various projects under consideration of the committee, he said it had been decided to computerise the math’s office and develop a website.

Mr. Singhi said it had been decided to institute an annual “Sadguru Sri Siddharoodh Sadbhavana Award” and take steps to set up a study chair on Siddharoodh Swamiji at the Karnatak University.

Efforts were also on to include information on the math in the handbook brought out by the Department of Tourism, bring out the book “Siddharoodha Charitamrita” in Marathi and Hindi and set up a library on the math premises, he said.

He said efforts to get a train originating from Hubli named after Siddharoodh Swamiji would continue and a delegation would meet Railway Minister Lalu Prasad in this regard.


He said the 78th death anniversary of Sri Siddharoodh Swamiji would begin from Thursday and would conclude with “Jalarathotsava” at the pond on the math premises on August 29.
