Many Congress, JD(S) workers to join BJP today

Shimoga: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa said here on Tuesday that the Bharatiya Janata Party could not stop people who appreciated its policies and programmes from joining the party unconditionally.

Mr.Yeddyurappa was speaking to presspersons at the helipad here about the “Operation Lotus” programme to be held here on Wednesday.

A large number of workers of the Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular) will join the BJP. He said, “who are we to deny entry to people who are interested to join our party?” When asked to comment on the protest demonstration by the members of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike against the Belgaum MP Suresh Angadi for “compromising” with the interests of the Kannadigas, he said he would comment only after getting all details about it Mr. Yeddyurappa said his party would contest all the 28 seats in the State on its own. He said they had decided on the candidates for the four more seats.
