A young employee deputed at a printing machine repair factory died when one of the machines fell on him at the unit in Ashokpuram in Mahalakshmi Layout on Friday.

Deepak Kumar Mehta (27) was shifting a printing machine, weighing more than two tonnes, on a trolley at Kumar Industries when he suddenly lost control of the trolley after it appeared to have met with an obstacle. The trolley jerked and the machine fell on him. A grievously injured Deepak was rushed to hospital but he died later. Deepak, a native of Bihar, was hired by Shakti Cranes, which had deputed him to work at Kumar Industries, said the police who have registered a case of negligence against both the firms.
