A boat from Malpe capsized off Murudeshwar coast in Uttara Kannada in the Arabian Sea on Monday. Assistant Director of the Department of Fisheries Harish Kumar told The Hind u that a boat named “Riyan” had capsized off the Murudeshwar coast in the Arabian Sea because of bad weather. The boat had left Malpe fisheries harbour for deep sea fishing. “All the crew members of the boat are safe. A clear picture will emerge on Tuesday,” he said. The Bhatkal police confirmed that the boat capsized.

Based on the report from the Meteorological Department, the Fisheries Department had issued a warning to the fishermen in the district not to venture into the sea for the next 24 hours, he said.
