Karnataka Janata Paksha candidate Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli should stop commenting on his political opponents, said Raghunath Malkapure, MLC and Bharatiya Janata Party State general secretary.
“Mr. Nagamarapalli has predicted that BJP candidate Ramesh Kumar Pande would lose.
Mr Nagamarapalli should stop making such statements,” he told presspersons here on Thursday.
Mr. Nagamarapalli said that he would not resign if elected to the State Assembly.
The KJP candidate should first seek an apology from the voters of Bidar constituency for resigning in 2009 after being elected in the 2008 Assemply polls, Mr. Malkapure said.
The Bharatiya Janata Party could not be held responsible for Mr. Nagamarapalli’s decision to quit the Congress to join them, he added.
Kondibarao Pandre, who had filed his papers as an Independent, has decided to retire from the fray and support the BJP candidate from the constituency, Mr. Malkapure said.
The BJP office-bearer expressed confidence that all six BJP candidates in the district would be elected.
