Making it unique, memorable

Share  ·   print   ·

It was a Teachers Day with a difference on the Garden City College campus. As students gathered, many among them had stories to narrate about how teachers had changed their lives and continued to do so in more ways than one. Words of inspiration, well scripted messages, poems and cut outs were some of the innovations the students had come up with to make the day unique and memorable.

The former Chief Justice of High Courts of Kerala and Karnataka, V.S. Malimath, observed that teaching was “the only profession where the way you conduct yourself counts in the lives of others.” Reminiscing about his college days, the former judge emphasised the sanctity of the profession and reminded the teachers of the responsibilities before them.

For the college teachers, the chairman, Joseph V.G., announced new employment guarantees, terminal benefit schemes, allowances for sabbaticals and loan schemes to finance purchase of two and four wheelers.
