`Good scope for exports in the manufacturing and services sectors'

MANGALORE: Former president of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Giridhar Prabhu on Thursday urged exporters to make use of the infrastructure available in the city for exports.

He was delivering a lecture on "Export Management" organised as part of the activities of the Business Line Club at Mangalore University, Mangalagangotri.

Good connectivity

He said the region had a major port and good air connectivity with other parts, and added that there was good scope for exports in the manufacturing and services sectors. Mr. Prabhu said there had been an increase in the export of minerals, ores and petroleum products in the past few years.

He attributed the increase in petroleum product exports to improvements in the country's petroleum refining infrastructure.

Senior Regional Manager of The Hindu, Mangalore, T. Ravi gave a presentation on the activities of the Business Line Club.
