Children take out ‘parisara jatha’ in Dharwad

DHARWAD: A large number of children participating in “Chandamana Chinnara Mela”, a summer camp organised by Dharwad Rangayana, took out a “parisara jatha” (walk for environment) here on Sunday. The jatha to the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises began from the Rangayana unit.

Objective

The objective of the jatha was to highlight steps to be taken to protect the environment and make education student friendly.

In a memorandum submitted to Deputy Commissioner Darpan Jain, the children elaborated on what they thought should be done to protect the environment. The children appealed to the officials not to fell trees on the premises of government offices.

The children, who spent sometime with the Deputy Commissioner, shared their thoughts on the education system.

In the memorandum, the children highlighted the importance of love and affection in classrooms to make learning better.

Rangyana unit Director Huligeppa Kattimani, Jaguchandra Koodla, and Mohan Nagammanavar participated in the jatha.
