The Lokayukta police on Thursday trapped Prem Kumar, a BBMP junior health inspector in the Yelahanka subdivision, while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 6,000.

According to a press release issued by the Lokayukta, Mr. Kumar had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 12,000 for granting a general licence to open a warehouse.

The complainant approached the Lokayukta when the accused demanded more money than he was willing to pay. The complainant had already paid Mr. Kumar Rs. 6,000 and it is only when he demanded another instalment of Rs. 6,000 that he approached the Lokayukta police with a complaint.
