BANGALORE: The Lokayukta is all set to make its vigil on government officials and departments more stringent. In a first-of-its kind move, the department is creating an exhaustive database that pools together information from departments on matters ranging from budget allocation to purchases made and contracts awarded. It is also drawing up a list of officials to be kept under watch.

Additional Director-General of Karnataka Lokayukta Rupak Kumar Dutta told The Hindu that they were collecting information regarding all records of departments systematically. “This data bank will help the Lokayukta to understand the functions of the department well,” he said.
