The Lokayukta police have found merit in the private complaint filed by industrialist Alam Pasha before the Lokayukta Court in May last year against Large- and Medium-scale Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani, the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, Industries Department Principal Secretary V.P. Baligar and the former Udyog Mitra managing director K.S. Shivaswamy.

In its final report filed before Lokayukta Judge N.K. Sudhindra Rao, the anti-corruption agency has found evidence to match Mr. Pasha’s allegation that the accused indulged in fraudulent acts during the Global Investors Meet.

‘Forged letter’

According to Mr. Pasha’s complaint, Mr. Yeddyurappa and Mr. Nirani used a forged letter to cancel the 26 acres allotted to him by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB).
