The institution of the Lokayukta commenced its day-to-day functioning from Wednesday, temporarily operating from the ground floor premises of the State Guesthouse at Altinho in the city.

Complaints as defined under Section 2 (e) and grievances as defined under section 2 (i) of the Goa Lokayukta Act, 2011 will be received from April 5, 2013 onwards between 10 a.m. and 1.15 p.m. from Monday to Friday. The office of the Lokayukta will also receive property statements submitted by public functionaries in terms of the provisions of Section 21 of the Goa Lokayukta Act.

B. Sudershan Reddy, former judge of the Supreme Court, was appointed Lokayukta of Goa by the Governor on March 8.

He took the oath of office on March 16.
