Besides all second Saturdays and Sundays, State government employees will get 22 public holidays and 21 restricted holidays in 2013.
A government notification issued here said the list does not include Maha Shivaratri (March 10), Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti (April 14) and Navami Ayudha Puja (October 31) which falls on Sundays.
Government offices will be closed through out the State on general holidays.
However, the heads of the departments should make necessary arrangements for the discharge of urgent work, it said.
A local holiday has been declared for Kodagu district only on account of Tulasankramana on October 17 and Huthri Festival on December 16, the notification said.
In addition to the general holidays, the government employees may utilise any of the restricted holidays not exceeding two days during 2013 with previous permission from the authority, who is authorised to sanction casual leave, it said.
