Bijapur: The City Municipal Council, in association with the Department of Kannada and Culture and Hubli-based Arya Trust have organised a special lecture on “Protection of historical monuments and law” for CMC members, officials, architects, civil engineers and real estate developers on May 29 at 4 p.m. at Kandagal Hanamanthraya Ranga Mandir here.

The lecture is aimed at creating awareness about the importance restricting construction activities near monuments.

The programme also stresses on how CMC members, officials architects and builders can play an important role in protecting heritage sites. High Court advocate M.B. Kanavi who represents the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Archaeological Survey of India will give the lecture, according to a press release.
