Sannamma (35) was beaten up by village residents of Kolipalya in Chamarajanagar taluk on Thursday for allegedly attempting to convert people to Christianity.

The president of the district Lambani tribal community, Ganesh Naik, told The Hindu that Sannamma from Mookanapalya came to their village and tried to lure the Lambanis to accept her religion, saying it would protect them.
