BANGALORE: All police personnel who have served in the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) for 30 years will be given promotions soon, announced Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa here on Tuesday.

“As many as 1,750 constables and 850 head constables will be promoted for their extraordinary services in maintaining law and order,” Mr. Yeddyurappa said, while receiving the guard of honour at the KSRP parade ground in Koramangala, on the occasion of the golden jubilee celebrations and Founder’s Day of KSRP.

Promotions will be given to all eligible personnel on the basis of their experience, the Chief Minister said. He also sanctioned Rs. 5 crore for the convention hall of KSRP and Rs. 6.5 crore for their welfare fund.

Meanwhile, 1,500 KSRP personnel have decided to donate their eyes. Mr. Yeddyurappa handed over the donor list to K. Bhujanga Shetty, President of Narayana Netralaya. Home Minister V.S. Acharya, Bangalore City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari, KSRP ADGP K. Srinivas, IGP Kempaiah and others were present.
