Minister inaugurates Navakanaka Ratna Ratha

‘Kanakadasa spoke against casteism’

Udupi: Energy Minister K.S. Eshwarappa has that the Sri Krishna Math/Temple in Udupi has served the cause of social justice by honouring both Lord Krishna and saint-composer Kanakadasa through the “Navakanaka Ratna Ratha”. Mr. Eshwarappa, who was here to inaugurate the ratha, told presspersons on Thursday that Kanakadasa had spoken against casteism. Now, the seer was offering the chariot named “Navakanaka Ratna Ratha” to Lord Krishna. “This offering will lead to better harmony and brotherhood in society. This is a happy and auspicious occasion and I congratulate Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji of Puttige Math for offering this Navakanaka Rathna Ratha to Lord Krishna,” he said.
