BANGALORE: The KPCL is determined to enhance the State’s power security by increasing production and even venturing into setting up projects outside the State, Energy Minister H.D. Revanna said here on Friday.

Inaugurating the 38th Foundation Day celebrations of KPCL, Mr. Revanna, who is also its vice-chairman, said while a detailed project report was being prepared for new projects to generate 8,000 MW of power, Rs. 4,500 crore had already been invested in projects for generating 2,500 MW.

KPCL’s plans to expand beyond the State were set to take off with the first project likely to be taken up in Orissa.
