It is to raise awareness on the ‘injustice' to State by national parties

HUBLI: Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP), which has been recently established, plans to conduct “Chaitanya Kranti Ratha Yatre” to create awareness among the people on the injustice caused to the State by national parties.

Paksha's State unit president Prasanna Kumar told presspersons in Hubli on Friday that the ratha yatre was also meant to build the party from the grassroots level.

The yatre, which will begin from Rayalapada in Kolar district, would cover 3,600 km across the State and was a step towards preparing the party for the next Assembly elections. Mr. Prasanna Kumar said the national parties had meted out injustice to the people of the State and protect the interests of the State in the last six decades of Independence. And there was still lack of commitment among members of the national parties towards the interests of the State, he said.

Keeping all these issues in mind, Karnataka Janata Paksha, a regional party, had been established and the party had engaged itself in various social activities and around 5 lakh people had become members of the party.

Mr. Kumar said he had served as general secretary of the Kannada Nadu Paksha but was disappointed by the “business like” approach of the founder of the party Vijay Sankeshwar. He said Kumar Hampiholi, who had been appointed Working President of the party, would have the responsibility of building the party in north Karnataka.
