Anjuman-E-Islam, a prestigious Muslim organisation in north Karnataka, which runs 25 educational institutions in the region, has set up Anjuman Sports Academy to provide coaching from experts to sportspersons.

The former cricketer and chairman of the selection committee of the KSCA Syed M.H. Kirmani will inaugurate the academy here on Tuesday.

According to president of the Anjuman-E-Islam Mohammed Yusuf C. Savanur the academy aims to promote sports in the region besides creating infrastructure for the same. To begin with interested persons will be given coaching in cricket, volleyball and football and soon a gymnasium would be established for sportspersons.

The academy will throw open its doors to students from institutions other than those run by the organisation.

The formal inauguration of the Anuman-E-Islam is scheduled to take place at 11.30 a.m. on Tuesday.
