Members of the Karnataka State Police Family Members' Association (KSPFMA) on Thursday staged a protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue near Ananda Rao Circle here and demanded action against advocates who allegedly assaulted police and media personnel at the premises of City Civil Court complex on March 2.

Around 100 persons, including women and children, belonging to the association raised slogans against the accused advocates.

The protesters also raised slogans against the State Government for not initiating action against the advocates who allegedly indulged in violence.

“We are demanding that Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda hand over the probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation instead of the judicial enquiry,” KSPFMA's president C. Venkatesh told The Hindu .

“We will intensify our protest if the State Government fails to bring the accused advocates to book,” Mr. Venkatesh added.
